Mobile, Alabama was William Moody’s home. No matter where he went, his heart resided in the Azalea City. He proudly talked about Mobile everywhere he went, insisting it was “God’s Country.” But more important than the city, itself, were the people.
Like many professional wrestlers, Moody spent most of his adult life on the road, traveling from town-to-town, state-to-state, country-to-country. Though he had a gregarious personality and friends all over the world, it was his family that gave the most meaning and stability to his life.
In his later years, when he started to travel a little bit less, he really began to appreciate what he had back home. The struggles that he went through just made it even more clear how lucky he was. He said it over and over that he was blessed… and he meant it every time.
I treasure my family more than life itself.
He was so proud of his family – he talked about them all the time. They were the backbone of who he was.
